In crime investigations, composite sketches (also referred to as identikit pictures, phantom pictures, or mugshots) are created using data from different sources. DNA-based facial reconstruction aims at predicting a person’s face using only genetic information. This workshop aims at a multi-disciplinary look at this technology. It brings together experts from genetics, anthropology, statistics, political sciences, social sciences, and forensics to discuss various aspects of this topic, including terminology, methodology, scientific validity, potential and actual use in applications, and risks and benefits to society.
The workshop is open to the public.
